Design Lab, a unique sweater design course for new and aspiring knitwear designers. If publishing a sweater pattern is on your to do list this year, Design Lab is exactly what you need to make that a reality.
Designing your first sweater is a special landmark in the life of a knitter. And I know first hand how difficult and overwhelming it can feel when you’re just starting out. But you don’t need to struggle through it on your own! Design Lab is here to make the process a little less daunting.
In the past, when you joined Design Lab, it would be a BIG time commitment. Usually around 12 weeks.
This round, I’m doing things a little different:
Beginning June 15th, I’ll be leading a series of 3-week intensives. Each session will focus exclusively on a single classic sweater construction.
June 15 : Drop Shoulder
June 22: Raglan
June 29: Circular Yoke
Why this order?
In my opinion, drop shoulder designs are an ideal first design project. From there, you can begin to build on your knowledge for other construction types. Unlike raglans and circular yokes, which require you to consider multiple design measurements and shaping at the same time, with a drop shoulder we can zero in on each aspect of a design individually.
I only want to sign up for one session. Is that ok?
Yes! One of the reasons I wanted to offer these intensives is so you can tailor your learning based on your needs and interests.
Are lessons still released weekly?
Nope, all modules will be available immediately upon registration so you can start working right away.
I thought Design Lab covered set-in sleeves too?
It does! I’m just not leading an intensive on set-in sleeves at this time.
I really want to have all four classic constructions Design Lab covers. How do I get that?
If you register for all 3 intensives, I’ll include the set-in sleeve module as a bonus!
Will there be weekly Office Hours?
Yes! And because this is an intensive, you will have the chance to meet with me twice a week. We will meet on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET and Thursdays at 7pm ET.
